Weidmann Inaugurates New Laminated Board Facility in Croatia

Weidmann officially inaugurated its newest Laminated Board Facility in Pojatno, Croatia on September 19, 2025.

The ceremony was attended by distinguished guests including Deputy Prime Minister of Croatia, Davor Božinović, Swiss Ambassador to Croatia, H.E. Beatrice Schaer, Mayor of Zaprešić, Željko Turk, Franziska Tschudi Sauber, Chair of the Weidmann Board of Directors, and Maximilian Veit, Group CEO, together with members of the Weidmann Executive Team and our Croatian colleagues.

This facility marks an important step in Weidmann’s global investment strategy, expanding capacity and modernizing operations to better support transformer manufacturers as demand accelerates through the global energy transition.

The new site adds 8,000 m² of production space and associated infrastructure, increasing Weidmann’s total footprint in Croatia to 36,000 m². This significant addition not only boosts our manufacturing capabilities but also reinforces Croatia’s role as a strategic hub within Weidmann’s global network. The investment will create 40 new jobs, underlining our commitment to long-term growth and to supporting the local community.

From the groundbreaking in August 2024 to the inauguration in September 2025, the project was completed in just over a year. This achievement reflects strong collaboration across teams, efficient project management, and the dedication of our Croatian workforce, who now proudly see their efforts realized in a state-of-the-art facility.

The Laminated Board Facility is the latest in a series of Weidmann’s global investments to secure supply, drive innovation, and deliver high-quality insulation solutions. It demonstrates our ongoing commitment to customers worldwide and our role in enabling a sustainable energy future.
