The role…
We are seeking an Equipment Reliability Specialist with experience in CNC machines and PLCs to join our Maintenance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, programming, maintaining, and optimizing the control systems used in our automated manufacturing processes.
How you’ll make an impact…
- Integrate control systems through PLCs and automation to eliminate unsafe conditions in machinery.
- Develop and implement systemic controls to reduce failures in CNC equipment through root cause analysis.
- Diagnose and resolve electrical, pneumatic, and communication control issues in CNC equipment, including failures in drives, servos, communication cables, and mechanical or electrical conditions translated into logical signals, etc.
- Diagnose and resolve mechanical problems in cutting equipment.
- Perform preventive, corrective, and develop predictive maintenance on critical machines.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to improve production process efficiency and support problem-solving initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards in control systems.
- Train operational personnel in the use and maintenance of control systems.
- Develop and implement continuous improvement initiatives in automated processes.
- Experience repairing CNC machines and punch presses.
- Experience in failure analysis to create effective prevention methods such as lessons learned, troubleshooting, and developing FMEAs for critical equipment.
- Experience in equipment automation.
- Knowledge of PLCs for failure diagnosis and development of new programs according to operational needs.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic diagrams.
- Identify opportunities for machine and process improvements that impact equipment performance.
- Work under performance indicators such as PM compliance, Uptime, MTBF, and MTTR, and report on major offenders.
What do you bring…
- Bachelor’s degree in Electronic, Mechatronics, Control, Automation Engineering, or related fields.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience with CNC and PLC control systems (Siemens, Allen-Bradley, etc.).
- Strong programming knowledge in Ladder Logic, Structured Text, and CNC programming.
- Experience diagnosing and resolving failures in automated systems.
- Knowledge of industrial networks and communication protocols (Ethernet/IP, Profibus, etc.).
- Ability to work under pressure and in a team environment.
- Availability for shifts and overtime.
