Working Toward a Sustainable Future
Our evolving vision
At Weidmann, our sustainability objective is to balance a long-term, profitable business that generates a positive impact on the economy and our people, with protecting the environment, addressing global challenges, and stewarding research and technological advancements in our business-area sectors.
During the past few years, responsibility for driving these initiatives shifted to our centralized global team in collaboration with topic-specific experts.
By prioritizing material United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) aligned with Weidmann’s core mission and values, our Sustainability Management team sets measurable goals to drive meaningful change throughout our operations and industry.

CEO’s sustainability commitment statement

From senior management and leadership team members to each employee in an office, warehouse, or on the shop floor, we are guided by the vision and commitment set forth by our CEO, Maximilian Veit:
“At Weidmann, we believe that leadership brings responsibility. As a global family company, we are dedicated to improving living standards through sustainable innovation. Guided by the UN Global Compact and Sustainable Development Goals, our Business Areas are advancing our processes to protect the planet and enhance societal health and safety.
Our work is anchored in our core values: Respectful, Ethical, Accountable, Innovative, and Inspiring. This is not just a vision for the future, but a daily operational promise. Together with our partners and customers, we are turning our sustainability goals into reality.”
— Maximilian Veit, CEO
Our values
Our values are the foundation of how we work and who we are. They shape our culture, guide our decisions, and inspire us to grow – together and individually – as we meet the challenges of an evolving world.
Integrating UN goals
As a committed participant of the United Nations Global Compact, the world’s largest corporate sustainability initiative, Weidmann supports the Ten Principles of the UN Global Compact in the areas of human rights, labor, environment, and anti-corruption. We have woven them into the fabric of our own business strategy, culture, and daily operations. Since these principles closely align with our own core values as outlined in the statement above, Weidmann is uniquely equipped to advance the SDGs through our business operations as a responsible employer and corporate citizen.

Below are the key SDGs for Weidmann:
SDG 5: Gender equality
By treating all employees equally with respect and providing a safe and healthy work environment and fair remuneration, Weidmann is aligned with SDG 5 (Gender Equality). We offer flexible work schedules and advancement opportunities for all genders, with a commitment to verify income equality within the next year. Weidmann is building a sturdy foundation for growth in our diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts. The established DEI Working Group conducts awareness trainings, promotes open dialogue, and measures progress using feedback, data, and metrics.
SDG 7: Affordable and clean energy
Achieving affordable, reliable, sustainable, and modern energy for all is a collaborative effort. Along with other leaders in the global energy sector, Weidmann is challenging current practices and innovating solutions to reduce negative environmental impacts. By exploring alternative sources to reduce fossil fuel consumption and considering eco-design principles in our products, Weidmann is producing insulation material in a more renewable, responsible way. We are proud to do business with other industry leaders in the pursuit of cleaner, greener energy.
SDG 8: Decent work and economic growth
It’s not just about business strategy. It’s about inspiring our own employees and partners to think proactively and act responsibly, at work and at home. Weidmann leads by example in conducting ethical business transactions and complies with all applicable laws, regulations, and internal guidelines. Our global growth bolsters the economy by creating jobs, and our training helps build a robust, skilled workforce. Weidmann’s charitable donation initiatives also seek to improve the quality of life for the societal whole.
SDG 9: Industry, innovation, and infrastructure
Build resilient infrastructure, promote inclusive and sustainable industrialization, and foster innovation. This is a guiding principle in all our business areas. Weidmann champions innovations to make our products and services more reliable, more accessible, more affordable, and more environmentally conscious. Our drive for success and profitability is tempered by our commitment to care for and preserve the natural resources without which we wouldn’t be able to grow our industry and advance global infrastructure.
SDG 12: Responsible consumption and production
Weidmann practices ethical sourcing and responsible supply chain management consistent with our established Responsible Sourcing Policy. We adhere to international regulations and standards to respect human rights and environmental sustainability. Due diligence and risk mitigation measures are implemented throughout all Weidmann entities, and the effectiveness of our efforts is reviewed annually. When it comes to responsible sourcing, we ensure compliance through active monitoring, regular risk assessments, and continuous employee training.
SDG 13: Climate action
Weidmann is “walking the walk” by building more sustainable sites within our global network. For example, production sites in Croatia are designed with eco-friendly features, including rooftop solar panels to help reduce our environmental footprint while sustainably powering our operations. Project owners globally are assigned to “roadmap” the potential for reducing our carbon footprint and advancing renewable energy initiatives. We are shifting from identifying steps to delivering concrete, data-driven, strategic progress.
We strive to create a safe and inclusive workspace
As part of our global DEI initiatives, Weidmann is launching a new poster campaign designed to foster an inclusive culture, retain and attract top talent, and inspire pride in our diverse organization.
-
By embracing and celebrating diversity across all dimensions, we build more innovative, creative, and resilient teams.
-
True equity empowers all individuals to contribute, grow, and thrive in our shared environment.
-
A culture of inclusion makes people feel like they belong and leads to better team performance at work.
Onto the next chapter
Our journey of purposeful contribution reinforces our commitment to act respectfully and ethically. We aim to inspire compassion, sustainability, and transparency, thereby strengthening our relationships with the partners and communities we serve.
In 2024, Weidmann was awarded the Bronze Medal in the EcoVadis Sustainability Rating, in recognition of our efforts to gather, verify, document, and share important policies and procedures already in place throughout the organization. Inspired to continue, we sharpened our focus on transparent communications, structured reporting, and centralized data, and earned the EcoVadis Silver Medal status in 2025. Weidmann is proud to have improved its rating to Silver in just one year. And we won’t stop there.
Weidmann remains steadfast in our belief that, through collaborative efforts, we can generate positive, lasting change, not just in our industry, but in the world at large. While our achievements thus far are noteworthy, they represent only the beginning of our story to drive measurable progress and deliver a lasting positive impact. We are dedicated to shaping a sustainable future and extending our impact beyond today to benefit the generations of tomorrow.
