The role…
Responsible for coordinating, supervising, and controlling daily production operations at the plant, ensuring compliance with quality, safety, efficiency, and productivity standards. This role is key to ensuring that processes are carried out in accordance with established procedures, legal regulations, and internal policies, including those related to Safety, Health, and Environment (SHE). Ensures the manufacture of products in accordance with customer requirements.
How you’ll make an impact…
- Supervise the performance of production personnel and ensure compliance with daily work plans.
- Ensure compliance with product quality standards and operating procedures.
- Coordinate minor maintenance activities and report equipment or facility failures.
- Record production indicators (efficiency, scrap, downtime, etc.).
- Implement corrective actions for production non-compliances.
- Coordinate activities of production leaders, operations specialists, and general operators.
- Manage unionized human resources to meet safety, quality, productivity, and cost objectives.
- Participate in continuous improvement, lean manufacturing, and Six Sigma projects.
- Evaluate unionized personnel according to procedures and participate in their selection, recruitment, and training.
- Ensure timely payroll closure.
- Use and ensure the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Keep the Skills Matrix updated by work center, ensuring personnel are trained and certified to safely operate machinery and processes; manage required training with the involved departments.
- Address identified or reported unsafe acts or conditions.
- Communicate and document, using the dissemination format, safety alerts generated in the last 24 hours and weekly safety talks.
- Implement the 5S methodology in operational areas and participate in internal and external audits.
- Identify hazards, assess risks, and determine workplace controls.
- Lead root cause solutions for internal and external quality issues.
- Confirm personnel assignment to operations according to their skill level and ensure compliance with procedures and operational controls.
- Communicate and document, using the dissemination format, quality alerts generated from customer complaints in the last 24 hours and weekly quality tips.
- Conduct layered audits and evaluate process changes or new products with the Process Engineer.
- Participate in internal and external audits.
- Lead root cause solutions for internal and external quality issues.
- Communicate production program sequences to personnel and ensure daily compliance.
- Verify compliance with the minimum required weekly production volume.
- Ensure machinery and equipment are operational during the production shift and meet hourly output targets.
- Plan manufacturing by department and collaborate with other teams to establish effective processes.
- Define material allocation to specific orders and participate in new product manufacturing.
- Monitor production inventories in SAP to keep costs within budget and reduce inventory discrepancies.
- Ensure proper confirmation of production orders and keep inventory variances within targets.
- Record and control internal scrap with strong action plans to reduce its incidence.
What do you bring…
- Industrial Engineering, Process Engineering, or related field.
- At least 5 years of experience supervising production lines or industrial processes.
- Proficiency in Systems, Standards, Models, Tools: ERP, Lean Manufacturing, data analysis tools.
- Knowledge of operational personnel management and shift planning.
- Experience in continuous improvement, quality control, and compliance with production KPIs.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
- Knowledge of the use of measuring and layout instruments.
- Basic knowledge of AutoCAD software.
- Knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 management systems.
- Knowledge and application of problem analysis, problem-solving methodologies, and continuous improvement.
- Knowledge and application of statistical tools.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Basic knowledge of SAP and/or willingness and ability to learn it.
- Ability to communicate effectively with shop-floor personnel, technicians, supervisors, and management.
- Skill in preparing production reports, incident reports, and basic technical documentation.
- Conflict management skills and team leadership capabilities. Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact with suppliers, internal teams, and senior management.
- Ability to negotiate and manage conflicts between teams or stakeholders.
- Flexibility to work different shifts, including weekends, as required by the process.
- Possession of a valid Visa and Passport is preferred.
