The role…
Join our Finance and Accounting team as a key member of both the finance function and the Urbana Site Management Team. As the Plant Controller, you’ll manage accounting operations, analyze site performance, and support financial and local goals. You’ll work closely with plant management to ensure accurate SAP transactions, maintain operational data, and provide actionable insights to drive results.
How you’ll make an impact…
- Analyze P&L accounts for accuracy and compliance with IFRS standards.
- Manage monthly/year-end close processes and reporting under tight deadlines.
- Explain financial results, trends, and variances to management.
- Perform daily controlling tasks and ad hoc financial/KPI analysis.
- Partner with local management on budgets, estimates, and decision support.
- Conduct cost analysis, product margin reviews, and standard cost updates.
- Oversee inventory reconciliations, valuations, and audit requests.
- Support capital investment processes and continuous improvement initiatives.
What do you bring…
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Accounting or Business (Master’s degree, CMA or CPA preferred)
- 10 years of professional financial accounting experience with 5 years in a manufacturing environment, preferably in paper making industry
- Strong financial accounting knowledge; including strong analytical and reporting skills
- Ability to effectively track and analyze information from across an organization, summarize data logically and communicate information and recommendations clearly to all appropriate contacts
- SAP FI/CO experience preferred or other ERP system knowledge required
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills; confident presenting to senior management.
- Proactive, self-motivated, and able to work independently. Skilled in problem-solving, critical thinking, and data analysis (Excel and related tools).
