The role…
Ensure compliance with quality standards in products, processes, and services through the implementation and follow-up of control methodologies, continuous improvement initiatives, and problem-solving analysis. The Quality Engineer serves as a technical liaison between Production, Engineering, Customers, and Suppliers to guarantee internal and external customer satisfaction. Support and participate in the development and implementation of the Integrated Quality, Environmental, and Occupational Health & Safety Management System and develop control methods in the manufacturing of our products.
How you’ll make an impact…
- Work as part of a team with the commitment to comply with the Quality, Environmental, and Occupational Health & Safety Policies and Objectives of WEIDMANN Electrical Technology of Mexico.
- Apply problem-solving methodologies to prevent nonconformities related to product, process, and the Quality, Environmental, and Occupational Health & Safety Management System.
- Support assigned activities related to improvement projects, Lean Manufacturing, and/or Six Sigma initiatives when required.
- Analyze information to identify issues related to products, processes, and the Integrated Management System.
- Follow up on controls implemented for nonconforming products and verify their effectiveness.
- Investigate customer nonconformities.
- Support and participate in internal and external audits of the Integrated Management System.
- Identify and report nonconformities related to critical supplier quality.
- Review reports issued in Axion and follow up accordingly.
- Review Internal and External Rejection indicators with Production to jointly define corrective and preventive actions.
- Support budget control activities within the Quality Department.
- Participate in hazard identification and environmental aspect assessments related to workplace activities.
- Act as a training instructor in courses focused on awareness of the Integrated Management System.
- Follow and comply with procedures, work instructions, and visual aids (Operational Controls).
- Report abnormal conditions affecting Quality, Environment, and Occupational Health & Safety.
- Apply 5S methodology in the work area and participate as a 5S auditor.
- Conduct root cause analysis for internal and external rejections, leading cross-functional teams to ensure corrective actions are effective and delivered on time.
- Comply with the internal verification and calibration program for measuring instruments.
- Manage the purchase of measuring instruments in accordance with the assigned budget.
- Prepare test certificates required by different customers.
- Release parts in Quality Inspection using the HUMO transaction in SAP.
- Administer the corrective and improvement action system within Axion software.
What do you bring…
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial, Mechanical, Electronic, Manufacturing, Quality Engineering, or related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in quality roles within industrial or manufacturing environments.
- Experience in regulated or certified industries (automotive, medical, aerospace, food) preferred.
- Knowledge and application of quality tools: APQP, PPAP, FMEA, MSA, SPC, quality audits, problem-solving methodologies, ISO/IATF standards.
- Strong knowledge of international quality standards, failure analysis methodologies, measurement systems, and technical documentation.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact at all organizational levels.
- Ability to prepare technical reports and presentations.
- Effective communication with Production, Engineering, Purchasing, and Customers.
- Ability to clearly document audit findings and failure analysis results.
- Advanced English preferred.
- Availability to travel as required by the company.
- Valid Visa and Passport preferred.
- Willingness to visit suppliers, sister plants, customers, or attend certification audits.
