The role…
Execute and oversee the accounts payable accounting process, ensuring compliance with tax regulations and internal policies. Responsible for the analysis, reconciliation, accounting records, and monthly closing of accounts payable, as well as monitoring and controlling payments to suppliers.
How you’ll make an impact…
- Maintain Record supplier invoices accurately and on time in the SER Validation system.
- Ensure that issued payments have proper supporting documentation and authorization prior to execution.
- Obtain the necessary information to ensure timely and accurate recording and payment of expense reports submitted by WETI employees.
- Ensure accounting entries are properly recorded in the SAP finance module so that accounts payable information is accurate and timely.
- Verify the accuracy of suppliers’ banking information to ensure correct payment processing.
- Prepare files for checks and bank transfers to execute payments on scheduled dates according to supplier payment terms.
- Respond to inquiries from suppliers and employees regarding overdue invoices, account statements, and pending payments.
- Execute all necessary processes to ensure an accurate month-end close.
- Analyze price and quantity differences generated in SAP postings (MRBR, GR-IR).
- Perform assigned balance sheet account reconciliations and assess their impact on results, including Mexico and intercompany Americas.
- Perform assigned intercompany reconciliations to ensure all group entities maintain accurate information.
- Supervise and validate entries made by the accounts payable assistant.
- Record complex invoices (services, fixed assets, international suppliers, etc.).
- Reconcile balances with suppliers and related general ledger accounts.
- Ensure proper application of taxes (VAT, withholdings, income tax, etc.) on received invoices.
- Coordinate and validate weekly and monthly payment schedules.
- Actively participate in the monthly accounting close (provisions, reclassifications, adjustments).
- Support internal and external audits by ensuring accurate and timely information delivery.
- Collaborate in improving accounting processes and area automation.
- Participate in cost-reduction projects as assigned by Management.
What do you bring…
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (completed/graduate).
- Minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in accounts payable and general accounting.
- Strong knowledge of Mexican tax regulations.
- Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP).
- Experience in manufacturing or industrial companies is desirable.
- Ability to explain accounting or tax findings to non-accounting personnel.
- English proficiency (spoken and written) is desirable for reviewing invoices from international suppliers or interacting with foreign contacts.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
