The role…
Responsible for providing administrative and operational support for import and export processes. The primary responsibility is to ensure that all documentation is complete, accurate, and processed in a timely manner to comply with legal, customs, and logistics requirements.
Collaborates with customs brokers, suppliers, and carriers to facilitate the efficient and compliant movement of domestic and international goods, ensuring the supply of materials, products, and equipment required for the manufacturing of our products and services.
How you’ll make an impact…
- Manage the import and export processes for materials, products, machinery, and equipment.
- Execute SAP workflows for supplier invoices, including customs brokers and carriers.
- Support the logistics and transportation process for direct materials to ensure that WTE-M has the necessary supplies for manufacturing its products.
- Ensure that the required information is provided to the Customs Broker to perform the proper tariff classification of materials.
- Execute the supplier evaluation process for Customs Brokers and Carriers based on the services provided.
- Maintain all Import/Export information and documentation properly stored, identified, and updated electronically within the shared folder.
- Ensure that Foreign Trade electronic files are kept up to date and aligned with the monthly GLOSA review.
- Ensure compliance with applicable legal requirements related to Foreign Trade.
- Promote and maintain clear and continuous communication with the team.
- Prepare and review shipping documentation, including commercial invoices, packing lists, air waybills, bills of lading (B/L), certificates of origin, and other relevant documents.
- Enter data into internal systems, including SAP, VUCEM, and logistics platforms, to monitor and track shipments.
- Track shipments in transit and confirm estimated arrival and delivery dates.
- Request basic logistics quotations and coordinate pickups based on the Coordinator’s instructions.
- Verify that documentation complies with applicable tariff and non-tariff regulations.
- Support the management of import/export permits, NOMs, and registrations with government authorities, according to the type of goods.
- Report errors, discrepancies, or delays that may result in non-compliance.
- Assist in preparing reports and documentation for internal and external audits.
What do you bring…
- Bachelor’s degree or technical degree in International Trade, Foreign Trade, Logistics, International Business, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in similar positions managing import and export operations.
- Preferred: Knowledge of SAP, particularly Purchasing, MM, PUR, and SD modules.
- Preferred: Basic training or courses in Incoterms, customs, foreign trade, or logistics systems.
- Experience handling domestic and international shipments.
- Knowledge of domestic, international, and commercial logistics.
- Knowledge of purchasing and supply management processes.
- Knowledge of international trade processes and regulations.
- Strong written communication skills for emails, reports, and commercial forms.
- Ability to communicate clearly with internal personnel, logistics agents, customs brokers, and suppliers.
- Strong attention to detail to prevent documentation errors and shipment-tracking issues.
- Advanced English proficiency, particularly for reading commercial terms and shipping documentation.
- Availability to travel, as required by business operations.
- Preferred: Valid visa and passport.
